Guys I need your advice. I need to get a new set of knee and shin pads pronto! A couple of you have mentioned in the past that RaceFace/Roach freerides are hands down the best for protection and comfort, so they will probably be the ones I go for. What I really need to know is how they size up. CR website says M 5'2" - 5'8",L 5'8" - 6'0", XL 6'0"+. However the problem I had with my medium Brand X ones was the calf straps fit ok if not on the tight side but the knee strap wasn't tight enough and allowed the pad to slip during riding or move completely during a crash (yes I've had another one, doh!) So any advice on this would be great, hopefully I'll get them for the weekend!!!

Might be worth a trip out to a shop, not to buy but to try on.

Stif in leeds stocks them, and as am sure all will agree... only look in Stif, until they bring their prices down in line with CC and smile at customers!

Thanks you two. I might give Stif and Evans a call first before popping in, but if Pav and Witty know first hand then that would be good. Anyway when are they both coming out for a ride? Not seen either of them in ages!!!!

Can recommend Specialsed fortress. RaceFace ones look good too, can't comment on fit tho as have not tried. Have a look on chainreactioncycles, they might have the raceface ones on sale.
